As administrator of the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation and Community Insurance Corporation, Aegis Corporation staff host hundreds of important risk management training sessions and events throughout the state every year. One that stands out involves Wisconsin law enforcement professionals, who put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities.
The Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation and Community Insurance Corporation held their 7th Annual Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (A.L.E.R.T.) Law Enforcement Challenge on October 3, 2018 in Portage County at the Portage County Sheriff's Department Rifle Range. Over 20 Wisconsin county and municipal departments competed at the event.
"Our Wisconsin law enforcement professionals put their lives on the line every day to protect our communities and our citizens," said John Dirkse, executive vice president of Aegis Corporation, which administers the County Mutual and A.L.E.R.T program. "To stay as safe as possible on the job, they continually train to be prepared for what they encounter on the streets. This year's event brought together the best of the best to compete and participate in safety training. It was a great event and we are so proud to work closely with our state's law enforcement."

“The County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation is dedicated to working closely with our clients to keep risk management at the forefront of their daily activities,” said Michael Lamont, director of programs and services for the Wisconsin Counties Association, which acts as corporate management for both companies. “We commend all of those participants who trained for and participated in this event. It’s our hope the realistic training scenarios they encountered will help them when faced with similar situations on the streets.”
The A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Challenge was FREE to member law enforcement departments of the County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation. In addition, sheriffs, chief deputies, firearms training officers, and law enforcement committee members, as well as chiefs, assistant chiefs, training officers and public safety committee/commission members were encouraged to attend. It was sponsored by both the Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation and Community Insurance Corporation.
“It is always an honor to host this event with Wisconsin's law enforcement community and this year's course was even created by past participants,” said Bruce Scott of Aegis Corporation, a former City of Milwaukee police officer who now operates the A.L.E.R.T. program for the County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation. “We look forward to gathering in 2019 to once again have our members compete, network and hopefully bring home a prize to their department.”
