Aegis Corporation is proud to announce their partnership with Milwaukee County to support the new Purple Heart Pass, which gives Purple Heart recipients throughout Wisconsin free admission to seven Milwaukee County attractions. Aegis Corporation provided a grant for the production of the cards that will be distributed to participants.
On Friday, December 28th at Discovery World in Milwaukee, Aegis Corporation attended a press conference with Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele that awarded the first two Purple Heart Passes to Purple Heart Vets. See Photos from the Purple Heart Pass event here.
"We could not be more excited to be a part of this program to honor those who have served our country and the Purple Heart Pass is just a small token of our appreciation," said Aegis Corporation Executive Vice President John Dirkse. "Aegis Corporation believes in supporting our veterans and we commend Milwaukee County for the creation of this worthwhile program."
The destinations included in the program include the Milwaukee Public Museum, Discovery World, Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee County Zoo, Harley-Davidson Museum, Mitchell Park Conservatory (The Domes) and Boerner Botanical Gardens.
According to Milwaukee County Veterans Service Office Director Jim Duff, there are over 2,500 to 3,000 known Purple Heart recipients in Wisconsin, but that number most likely is higher.
The program is slated to begin January 1, 2013 and Purple Heart Veterans can contact MCVSO Director Jim Duff via phone at 414-266-1235 or email for more information on obtaining a pass.
