Aegis Corporation Coordinating 2016 A.L.E.R.T. Law Enforcement Challenge

Registration is Now Open for October 5th Event in Portage County

Aegis Corporation is working with the County Mutual and Community Insurance Corporation to put on their 5th Annual Advanced Law Enforcement Risk Training (A.L.E.R.T.) Law Enforcement Challenge. The event will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2016 in Portage County with new challenges, an updated course and tougher competition.

The company is encouraging all County Mutual and CIC member departments to attend this NO COST event, which occurs rain or shine.  This year's event will be held on ONE DAY in ONE LOCATION, so it's a true statewide competition.

New Course for 2016!
Past participants gathered earlier this year to create a new and even more challenging course. The 2016 events features a course created by your peers.

Notable changes to the course are an additional 60 pounds to the dummy drag, creating a total of 120 pounds and changes to the scoring system on the respective targets. Handguns will be fired standing from a barricaded position.

A special thanks to those course committee members, including:
  • Steve Retzki, Wayne Kropidlowski and Robert Wanta, Portage County Sheriff's Department;
  • Clint Czerwinski, Winnebago County Sheriff's Department;
  • Bren Derringer, Wood County Sheriff's Department;
  • Louis Williams and Jack Wege, Milwaukee County House of Correction.
