Aegis Corporation Senior Risk Management Consultant Jodi Traas has been busy speaking with Wisconsin County Mutual Insurance Corporation (County Mutual) and Community Insurance Corporation (CIC) members on the topic of bullying.
While October was National Bullying Prevention Month, the County Mutual and CIC continue to actively train counties and schools on what they can do to prevent work and school bullying.
In addition to presenting to counties on "Workplace Bullying: There is Power in One Voice," she has also done training sessions on "School Bullying Solutions." She also recently presented at a Wisconsin Association of Nutritional Directors (WAND) Seminar on Senior Bullying.
"The issue of bullying has never been more relevant and we've been getting a lot of requests from our members to present on this topic. This is a problem that has been in our schools, yet it reaches far beyond the playground," said Jodi. "We are excited to offer bullying training to our members. Once we are able to recognize a situation, we can take the proper steps to eliminate it in the workplace as well as in our schools."
Calumet County has taken advantage of the County Mutual's free risk management training on this topic and is working to prevent bullying in their county. County Administrator Jay Shambeau, Board Chair Bill Barribeau and the Calumet County Board recently signed an anti-bullying pledge and encouraged others to do the same in the county. Jodi has recently worked with them to incorporate anti-bullying language in their county's policies and procedures.
