Aegis Corporation is excited to roll out new training for county and municipal clients. As a part of our better workplace series, the company is now providing “Coaching the Manager,” a three-part training module. Recently Jackson and Trempealeau Counties have been participating in the course.
“Everyone has different leadership styles and everyone is motivated in different ways,” said Aegis Corporation Vice President of Risk Management Vance Forrest. “Today’s workforce is very different than it was 10 years ago and management has to adapt with it. The purpose of this professional coaching series is to improve the personal skills of managers and leaders so that they are better equipped to get the best performance from themselves, from management and the rest of the team.”
This three-part leadership training series gives the skills, tools and techniques to feel more confident, motivated and assured. During this program attendees gain new insights relating to:
• Identifying struggles
• Improving communication sills
• Delegating
• Leading by example
• Conflict resolution
• Motivating yourself and others
Each session is offered twice each day for 90-minutes sessions. Topics covered include:
Challenges of Being a Supervisor
Control the controllable
How to build your team
Communicating with Your Staff
Gender and age differences
Conflict resolution
Don’t Think You Have to Know it All. Draw on Your Team for Strength
Collaborative efforts
Building team goals
“Many of our clients have seen new staff in positions of management for the first time and this training is invaluable,” said Forrest. “I have over 30-plus years coaching experience into the discussions and the similarities to building and developing a good basketball team are not unlike what is needed to building your own department team. This management training is fun and incredibly helpful and I encourage counties to contact us to get the series scheduled.”
