The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) has named Jodi Traas, Aegis Corporation Senior Risk Management Consultant, as the 2015 Shining Star Award winner for "extraordinary dedication and commitment of time and expertise to WASBO."
She was presented with the award at the 2015 WASBO Foundation Fall Conference October 9th at Elkhart Lake.
"We are incredibly proud of the work of Jodi and her commitment to working along side Wisconsin school districts to keep our teachers and students safe and thriving," said Aegis Corporation Executive Vice President John A. Dirkse. "This is a well-deserved award and we commend her for dedication to WASBO and their programming."
She was recognized for her work with WASBO through her role with Community Insurance Corporation. Jodi has been an active member of WASBO, frequently speaking on school safety issues to their member school districts.
Jodi has been the co-chair of the WASBO Safety & Risk Management Committee for five years, serving with Joe Bellomo of the Waunakee School District.
WASBO is the Wisconsin Licensee for the National Alliance Certified School Risk Manager (CSRM) program and Jodi is a trainer and mentor for the program. She has also been a WASBO
Facilities Committee Member since the early 2000’s.
She has also served on the Wingspread Committee, organized following Sandy Hook for representatives of school associations to prevent and reduce school crisis events. Other WASBO representatives include Joe Bellomo and Woody Wiedenhoeft, Executive Director.
She is a regular presenter of training sessions provided at various conferences, including accounting, spring conference, facilities, transportation & bus safety, fall conference, midwest facilities master’s conference, custodial conference and joint state education convention.
